This notice explains how Oval North Ltd handles personal data when you visit this website. It covers this website only, not any of our apps.

Who we are

Cookies and tracking

This website does not track you across other websites or use any advertising service, and it sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies if its security features need to verify or challenge your browser, as described below.

Apart from the analytics script described below, the website does not load fonts, scripts or anything else from other companies: the fonts it uses are served from this website, so your browser does not contact Google or anyone else when you visit.

If you switch between light and dark mode, pause the animation or disable analytics, your browser remembers that choice in its own storage on your device, so the next page opens the same way. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to us, and it is removed when you clear your browsing data.

Our hosting provider

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver the site and protect it from attacks and abuse, Cloudflare processes basic technical data about each visit, such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure website to do this.

We do not keep separate logs of visits ourselves. Cloudflare’s dashboard gives us access to sampled information about recent requests, including their IP addresses, for up to 7 days, and to the requests its security features have blocked or challenged for up to 24 hours. If those features verify or challenge your browser to check that it is not automated, Cloudflare may set security cookies so that it does not need to repeat the same checks straight away.

Cloudflare acts on our behalf. It also uses information about traffic across its network, as a controller in its own right, to detect and block attacks, as its privacy policy explains.

Cloudflare runs a global network, so this data may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States. Cloudflare is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which UK law recognises as giving adequate protection. Where that does not apply, our agreement with Cloudflare uses the standard contractual clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see, in aggregate, how this website is used: how many pages are viewed and which ones, which websites visitors arrive from, the type of device, browser and operating system they use, the country they connect from, and how quickly pages load. We use this only to understand and improve the website, and we rely on our legitimate interest in doing so.

When you open a page, your browser loads a small script from Cloudflare that reports these details for that page view. It does not set cookies or store anything in your browser. It gives the page view an identifier, sent with the report, but no lasting identifier that could recognise you on another page or visit. The report reaches Cloudflare with your IP address, as every request does; Cloudflare works out your country from it, then discards it rather than storing it in its analytics databases or logs. We see only aggregate figures, never individual visits. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf, with the safeguards for processing outside the UK described above.

We do not use analytics to identify you, build a profile of you, follow you across other websites or advertise to you.

To switch analytics off, select Disable analytics at the foot of any page. From the next page you open, the script is not loaded until you select Enable analytics. Your browser remembers the choice as described above, so clearing your browsing data switches analytics back on. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or does not let this website store the choice, analytics stay off and the button is not shown.

If you email us

If you email us, we use your email address and your message only to reply to you. We keep them only as long as we need to deal with your enquiry, then delete them. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR), you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• ask us to correct it if it is wrong
• ask us to delete it
• ask us to restrict how we use it in certain circumstances
• object to our using it

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. We would welcome the chance to put things right, so feel free to contact us first.

Changes to this notice

If the way we handle personal data on this website changes, we will update this notice and the date at the top of the page.
